About this Solid Metal Rivet

1100 Aluminum (AF)

1100 aluminum rivets (material code AF) are manufactured from commercially pure aluminum, providing maximum softness and formability. This non-heat-treatable alloy is ideal for applications requiring extensive forming or where minimal installation force is critical. While softer than other aluminum grades, 1100 offers excellent corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity.

Aluminum

Aluminum solid rivets offer an ideal combination of light weight, corrosion resistance, and workability for marine, transportation, and architectural applications. Our extensive aluminum rivet inventory includes multiple alloys to match your specific requirements for strength, formability, and environmental resistance. With our proprietary in-house heat treatment capabilities, we can provide aluminum rivets in various tempers to achieve the exact mechanical properties your application demands. Aluminum rivets are particularly popular in semi-trailer and boat manufacturing where weight savings and weather resistance are critical. Standard lead time is 2-3 weeks.

Flat Head

Flat head solid rivets feature a completely flat top surface with no radius, providing a simple and cost-effective fastening solution. The flat design allows material to flow freely during installation, making them ideal for applications with clearance restrictions. While they sit slightly raised above the surface rather than flush, flat head rivets offer reliable holding power and are particularly useful when you need minimal tooling requirements or are working with tight diameter clearances. These rivets are among the easiest to manufacture and install, making them a practical choice for general-purpose fastening applications.

Miniature Rivets

Miniature solid rivets, ranging from 1/32" (0.0313") to .125) in diameter, provide precision fastening solutions for delicate assemblies and small-scale applications. These tiny fasteners require specialized manufacturing techniques and quality control to maintain dimensional accuracy at miniature scales. Common applications include precision bearings, toy manufacturing, electronic devices, gyroscopes, and cookie cutter assemblies. Our miniature rivet capabilities extend down to 0.020" diameter for specialized applications, though 0.030" represents a more practical minimum for most uses. Each miniature rivet is carefully inspected to ensure consistent quality in these demanding applications.
